Student Meals Information (As a result of Closure)

Starting tomorrow, all eight MCS elementary schools will be open for students to pick up lunch from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday. Regardless of grade level, go to the nearest elementary school to pick up meals for students. If you can not get to a site, please call your school for assistance.

#Be Proactive: Wash Your Hands

MHS is committed to providing our students and staff with clean facilities and adequate supplies for our facilities. With this in mind, we have stepped up the frequency and monitoring of our restrooms to ensure they are properly cleaned and supplied.
As recommended, the first line of defense from the CDC to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

MHS Celebrates Digital Learning

On February 27, 2020, McDowell High School celebrated the importance of digital tools in today's classrooms as part of National Digital Learning Day. A variety of tools were showcased during digital learning activities and teachers got a chance to share some of the ways they integrate technology regularly in the classroom to enhance student success. In addition, NC's Governor Roy Cooper enacted a Digital Learning Day proclamation, highlighting his commitment to strengthening education through innovative, technology-based learning and achieving digital equity in North Carolina.

MHS Marksmanship Team Earns Top 20 National Placement

McDowell marksmanship team members Andrew R., Morgan R., Owen C., and Mark W. returned from the national match in Phoenix, Arizona recently with a top 20 placement. There are 583 NJROTC units and our team finished the season ranked #17. We're #titanproud!

Congrats Student Artists!

Recently, a reception for the artists who entered the countywide contest that were selected to have their work on display in the Arrowhead Gallery in Old Fort. The Friends of the Mountain Gateway Museum in Old Fort sponsored this event! We're #titanproud. The four winners were:
