MHS Science Olympiad Students Earn Places at Competition

The 2018 Science Olympiad team recently competed at Regionals held at UNCA. Two of the MHS teams qualified for the State competition, Forensics and Helicopters. Science Olympiad requires preparation, commitment, coaching and practice throughout the year. Each school-based team is allowed to bring 15 students who cross-train for a variety of events in their skill set.

Graphics Students Win at PICA Awards

Four students from McDowell County were awarded top honors in a prestigious two-state competition for print and design.

The Printing Industry of the Carolinas, Inc. (PICA) is the regional trade association for print manufacturing in North and South Carolina. They provide member companies with opportunities to access value-added resources and services designed to help them be more effective, efficient and profitable.

Tuesday, May 1st 7 - 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria
Wednesday, May 2nd 3 - 5 p.m. in the cafeteria
Thursday, May 3rd 3 - 6 p.m. in the cafeteria, reception from 6 - 6:30, and then photos from 6:30 - 7.
This is for any student who has committed to ANY college, university, or branch of the military. Students should wear college or military attire and may bring a parent/guardian/teacher/counselor - any person they feel helped them make their college or military dreams come true. #collegebound
