As a graduate of McDowell County Schools, I have been honored to be a teacher for 18 years in the school system that helped build my foundation for life and form my views on the importance of education. During my educational career, I have had the pleasure of working at the middle school and high school level. I have taught grades 8-12 and all ability levels at each grade. For the last 17 years, I have been a proud Titan and served as a faculty member of the school that has my heart. While working for McDowell County, I have continued my education and earned my AIG certification, a Masters in Educational Media, and my Administration certification. I have continued to take classes not only because I love to learn, but also because I want to do all I can to help McDowell County Schools and its students become the best they can be.
My passion for MHS, my students, and education are 3 things that can never be questioned. I have and always will go above and beyond for parents and students. I believe the administration, faculty, staff, community, and students are all partners in the future of our students. We must all work together to make sure everyone believes in the success which is available to each and every student.
