Luanne Parks Graham teaches biology, earth/environmental science, and anatomy and physiology at McDowell High School in Marion, North Carolina. The 2017-18 school term will be her 29th year in teaching. Mrs. Graham began her career in 1988 at East McDowell Jr. High School, teaching 9th grade physical science. From there she moved to Summerville, SC and taught at Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston. She has been teaching at McDowell High School since 1999. Mrs. Graham graduated from McDowell High School in 1981. She holds a bachelor's degree in Naturalist/Evolutionary biology and Taxonomy with a minor in physical geography and land form analysis from Appalachian State University and a Master's of Education in curriculum and instruction from The Citadel.
Mrs. Graham has a son, Andrew, who lives in Cary, NC with his wife, Carolanne, and a daughter, Anna, who lives here in McDowell County. She also has two step children, David and Debbie (with husband, Logan, and son, Franklin), who both live in Kalispell, MT. She lives in the Ashford-North Cove area of McDowell county with her husband and three corgis, Owyn, Franklin, and Olive, and a parakeet who thinks she's a dog, named Rupert. She enjoys hiking, reading, and watching movies.
