Welcome! I am a Business and Computer Teacher at McDowell High School. I have a passion for teaching students how to use technology and to think critically. I'm excited to be a part of your or your child's education.

I am originally from McDowell County and attended MHS as a student. Upon graduation from MHS, I attended Gardner-Webb University where I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I then began my teaching career in the CTE Department at MHS in the spring of 2000. I later went back to school and obtained a Master's Degree in Educational Media with a concentration in Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University.

I currently teach Personal Finance, Microsoft Office, Foundations of Information Technology, and Multimedia and Webpage Design. Beginning in the 2016-17 school year I will be teaching two new courses: Scientific and Technical Visualization and Game Art and Design. I am certified in Microsoft Word 2013, Microsoft PowerPoint 2013, Microsoft Excel 2013, Microsoft Access 2013, and EverFi Financial Literacy
